How much faster would an 00 GT 0-60 mph with 4:10's than stock gears?

im always on the forum with my phone. you old timers... i tell you what. stay up-to-date with technology before questioning if somebody was on the forum with a phone.

Yeah I get on all the time with my i-phone when I'm at school, but I don't get on when I'm driving though that can be a little dangerous. But I agree some of u should get more updated on tech.

read the title...he means for a GT...he wants to sell his audi and buy a 2000 GT with those mods and wants to know if the GT would be significantly quicker with 4.10s over stock..and if it would have around 300hp... and with those mods it may have close at the crank, but not at the wheels

It's pretty simple with 4.6 motors and gears. 4.6s are high rev motors, that's where most of the HP and torque is,so the quicker you can get it to rev the quicker you'll accelerate. That's why 3.73s are decent for everyday driving, but 4.10s are for really maximizing it for the track without blowing it up before you get there. People do it, but you wouldn't want 4.10s in something with good low end torque like the Ls1. All you'll do is spin and get out of your powerband way to fast with those type of cars. The only bad thing about stangs and gears is that they are light on the rear and tend to lose traction pretty quick. With that being said, plan on suspension and DRs if you plan on gearing a Mustang so you can take full advantage those gears. My ET improved very little with 4.10s due to traction, although I trapped 2mph higher than with 3.55s.
