The same thing was going on with my 99 GT. How bad is the leak? If the check coolant light comes on after a day or two then the leak is pretty serious and I'd take it in. My intake manifold ended up being cracked which is what sounds like has happened to yours. Costed 900 for Ford to replace it too....

Alright, well if you find yourself filling it up a lot, you can just put water in there instead of coolant until you take it in. Just get it in as soon as you can though.

Actually, you can replace the manifold yourself, if you have a torque wrench, and a bit of elbow grease. While you're at it, you can upgrade to a PI manifold for some extra ponies. You can get one on eBay for about $200. I have the same problem now, and am waiting for the manifold to arrive.

What you can do is this: find the crack where the water/coolant is coming out from, and, with the engine cold, place some gasket sealant/silicone in the crack, let it harden for about 20 minutes, and you should last a good while. Epoxy works even better (though not if the crack is INSIDE the temp o-ring). I'll post pictures of the task once I do it.

And, yes, it's serious, and you have to fix it, or you may end up with no coolant and overheating on the highway--which is obviously bad. Good luck, and let us know how it went!

JB Weld is a permanent fix.... blocks, heads, intakes, etc...

Stuff is unbelievable, mix and apply. I know a school bus that had some put on a cracked engine block, 4 years and still no leak.
