allows the fuel to stay in the most available position for the pump so a hi volume pump doesnt suck the tank dry. will also allow the fuel to stay in a specific pocket instead of sloshing away from the pump.

only if you have enough horsepower to have a pump that would result in that kind of condition. for example the 0304 cobras come with a sumped tank because of their dual fuel pumps.
