Default POWER DRAINAGE

I have a 97 mustang GT thats run like new. 100,000 miles This cars has been driven by agirl who never beat on it one time has taken perfect care of it. This is the first problem since new. The car is stock and the battery drains down to DEAD in a day and a half. Theres a draw on the battery of 12.3 voltswhen the caris just sitting and there is nothing that looks or showsto be running that would drain the battery what should i do and i dont hear a blower motor or anything nothing at all. the battery drains after about a day and a half

The battery is probably just old and bad. Just get it tested and replace it.

Get a multi meter. Loosen up the neg battery post. Put one side of the meter on the post and the other side on the battery end then pull the end off the battery making sure you keep the meter hooked up. If you have a drain it will show you on the meter just how much of a drain in volts. Then you just pull fuses until the drain goes away and you have the problem pin pointed then. Most of the time it's a broken coil in the alternator that does this though. The alternator will still charge while it's running but drain the battery while the car is off. I know from experience. If there is no drain then you might want to check the battery.

Wow, you've got a dead short. A dead short that's not blowing a fuse is almost always the alternator.
