Default misfire....

I have a misfire in cylinder number 6.so ichanged coil packs, ignition wires, spark plugs, and still it continues to misfire, so i checked them all, and they seemed fine, although the ignition wire into cylinder 6 did have some signs of arcing, it was a little white on the tip. anyway... i ran a compression check on the cylinder and that was fine, everything seems ok yet it still misfires in the cylinder. what else could it be or what could i check?

no vacuum leaks or other leaks of any sort either.

Thanks

Lewis

If your ignition and compression are ok then it has to be a fuel problem.

+1

Check your injector, and make sure the wire isnt resting on anything metal, it may be jumping spark to ground instead of the plug

fuel pump would be a total engine misfire or a no run condition. if you switched the injector and still no change, the injector circuit itself could be bad. take it somewhere to get it plugged in and the scanner will be able to tell you if you have an injector ckt fault. if not it could be a coolant leak into the cylinder via headgasket.

ok thanks.

If it was to be a coolant leak into cylinder via the headgasket, that is gonna be a bitch to replace right? or what do you think?
my coolant light is also on, and im definately leeking coolant, so does that make you think more that this is the problem?

thanks man

Yeah...there's your problem. Make sure you have all of your spark plugs not all bundled up together, and they are in wire looms/separator. What led up to this problem? Did you replace everything then it started doing this, or was it doing it before?

If it's not this or your fuel, check out your cam and crank sensor.

if your continuasly losing coolant and have an untraceable misfire then it sounds like a head gasket to me. and yes there a bitch to replace.

It was already misfiring... then i started changing things out.

What sort of tools am I gonna need to get intochanging the headgasket? Im pretty sure thats the problem, im changing my fuel pump too as there is a lot of hesitation/stumbling during acceleration and i think fuel pump is problem.

Thanks
