its definitely worth it. the money you save from not having to remove them to drop the tranny is VERY nice and more than makes up the extra in the price. plus they are a quality piece. personally I bought the midpipe first because thats what I wanted soundwise, then I read up on the mid lengths and they basically get the same hp increase as longtubes give or take a couple hp. honestly when youre talking hp, 2 or 3 isnt much when youre already at 250-260. lets not be ricers and say it is

You're not going to make it match right, smart a$$. It's not my idea, it's not your idea, it's just a dumb idea. But go ahead and waste your money. Just letting you know you'd be better off buying the right part.

I did it and mine doesn't leak. You don't always have to go with the manufacturer's recommendations. Although sometimes trial and error is a bitch. I had extrax pipes and tubing fromwhen I had the factory headers. I made careful measurements and fit it all together before welding so Iwould be surethat it would not leakor fit improperly.

Some peoplehave the patience and the ability to create things with their hands.Don't knock them just because you prefer to use your hands to type out your credit card number and pay someone to do the dirty work foryou. Then when you find out you have a leak you bitch and moan that you wastedyour hard earned moneyand got shoddy fitting stuff.

I don't feel he'swasting his money if he's using his ownstuff. Money is wasted when extra stuff sits in the garage.

I had really bad luck with making my own pipes. Not just me, too. A buddy with a 5.0L had the same problems. He did great work with exhausts, too. I was just trying to give him some advice. He can do whatever he wants.

then it is apparent that maybe you shouldn't do a mod like this. i fabricate things that dont exist for a living. i would find it very hard to live with myself if i didn't at least attempt this with parts that i already own. i wont stoop to your level by name calling but if you cant weld exhaust tubing or fabricate things of a high quality, your really showing your ignorance by insulting someone that can.

Well this may not be the reason but after having x pipes I, overtime started to really dislike the sound. At first it was great and loud but after time it became irritating. I found that borla was much better.... ohh ya I also had issues with the length had to get it fitted / customized.

It's not about ignorance. If you can do it, congradulations. Oh no, you've got one on me. How the hell was I supposed to know that you "fabricate" things for a living? You asked a question and I'm giving my opinion on it. I've seen first hand that home made exhausts aren't the best way to go. If you can do ityou should be proud of yourself. If you can't handle someone's opinion, then don't ask. No, exhaust systems are not my speciality. Yes, I can weld and I do my own exhaust. I've done my share of fabricating in this field over the years.
