what is the idle air control motor, where is it located, and what does it do, i think it is on the idle air control valve?

 

The IACis located on the plenum. It is basicly a controlled vacum leak. The IAC motor controls the amount of air that goes through it to let the engine idle at a preset rpm.

 

The idle air control valve provides a path for air to travel when the throttle is closed. During idle when only a very small amount of air is required, this valve provides more accurate control of the air flow than could be achieved by opening the throttle very slightly. It is located on the throttle body.

yea i couldnt remember if it was mounted behind the throttle plate on the TB or on the plenum. oh well. havent taken that apart for over a year....my bad
