i just talked to the dealership...its $6 for a door key that doesnt run the ignition *i got one for my wallet incase i ever lock my keys in the car*...there is a $79 one time fee to program a key, so if you get 3 ignition keys made its $79 plus the cost of 3 keys...so like 79 plus 18...atleast thats how it works around here.... only thing i can think that made it go to 130 is 79 for a program, 10 for a key, and 40 for the remote with the buttons...i need a new remote my unlock button broke out, but its not worh $40 to me so i put a piece of cardboard in it and it works just the same

I have a '97 and True Value made me a copy for $3. My key has no electronics in it (that I know of) so maybe yours is newer and fancier? =)

RE: Car Keys
This is the main reason why I have two extra keys for my car. I bought two blank Ford PATS keys off ebay a couple of years ago (10 bucks a piece). I took them to Lowes and got them cut for free (bless their hearts). I then programmed the duplicatesmyself in my ignition. As long as you have two working keys for your ignition, you program extras yourself.
Now if you only have one key, then you are at the mercy of the locksmith with the NGS hickock machine (I think that's what they call it) or a PATS system key reprogramming at the the dealer.
Word to the wise, make extras now while you have two keys!
