Best Oil for Higher Milege mustangs!!!
Hey guys i just clicked over to 61k and ive heard from a few post and a few friends that it is better to run a 5w-30 oil instead of the 5w-20 when we get a few more miles, which one would be best any other thoughts? different weights or brands? or just stay 5w-20

Until an unbiased, unsponsored, scientifically controlled series of tests are done and published there is one answer:
Any synthetic.
The only constant should be that you stick with the brand you choose.

oh crap i wish synthetic would work for me i hear how everyone else makes out great and how good it is, and i was at 36k i made the dumb decsion to switch after my car had miles on her and it caused my IAC and a a couple of clogs i dont know where i forgot but the mechanic said that the syntheic oil was so clean that it pushed out all the dirt and clogsand left deposits and so i had to go bak to the dark side of regular Penziol 5w-20 motor oil! is this penziol oil any good ive never had a problem with it yet

pennzoil is a wax based oil, yuck[:'(]
Try synthetic again, but I personally think 5w20 is too thin my for climate, in im Houston, I use 5w30 year round and always will, its just a good universal oil. Whatever type of oil you use, it would be OK to switch to 5w30
