Default Mach 1 vs. Cobra Motor

Hey guys, I tried searching but I'm wondering if there is a difference between the 04 Mach 1 motor and the 04 Cobra motor. If I were to get a Mach 1, can it support as much power and such?

Thanks!

Big difference. The only thing thats the same are the heads really. Machs have an aluminum block, forged crank (manuals only) and the crappy rods and pistons our gts have, with about 10.5:1 compression. 03/04 Cobras have forged crank, forged manley h beam rods and mahle forged pistons and lower compression. So no, stock vs stock the Mach1 motor can't support the power the Cobra motor can.

mach 1 motors are not forged, cobra motors are, theres an insane guy thats running like 1000+ hp/tq on a stock cobra block. Also the mach is not as great for FI cause it has higher compression than a cobra motor.

^^ what he said lols, beat me by less than a sec

this is from an article ...

With the supercharger and the iron block, the new Cobra carries some 200 extra pounds, most of it on the front wheels. But the chassis engineers have done a commendable job of keeping the car from feeling front-heavy. The mighty Mustang corners with aplomb.
