i have a 2000 gt with about 100,000 miles on it. in the last week or so it started making a really nasty pinging noise and i dont know what it is, any ideas? it usually does it around 3000 rpms or higher and is easier to hear in 1st and 2nd gears. thanks

 

where is the pinging noise coming from and does it happen in idle too?

 

have you done anything recently, mods or anything?

 

You are detonating. Better be running 93 octane till you figure out the problem.
