rpms jump when shifting
Eversince I bought my Bullitt, this past October, it has this problem every now and then. When I'm driving and go to shift from any gear (1st to 2nd, or 2nd to 3rd, and so on, through every gear) the rpms rise. The other day, I was in 4th gear, slowly accelerating, shifted into neutral at about 1200 rpms and watched it slowly rise right above 2000rpms, stay there for a about 2 or 3 seconds, and then go back down. At one point, the rpms would not go below 1500rpms while sitting at idle (is that normal)? And when this happens, I can rev up to about 2400rpms in neutral and it stays there for about 2 or 3 seconds before "slowly" going down.
I heard that Ford is very bad about their Idle Control Air Valve, so I replaced that and it seems like it worked for that day, but it is still occuring.
It's not happening all the time, so I thought I could rule out the possiblity of a vacuum leak.
Does anyone know what could be causing this???
Thanks,
Austin[/align]

lol, of course I let off the gas pedal...I've been driving a stick eversince I could drive. I do have a K&N air filter, but this was happening before I bought it.
When this does occur, I shift into neutral (let off the gas pedal) and the rpms rise about 500 or more rpms, stay there for 3 seconds, and "slowly" fall
