Default Short throw pose any danger to transmission?

This is kinda a stupid question but I've heard before that short throw shifters can pose a slightrisk to your tranny or if you miss a gear the damage will be amplified. I would think that a short throw is fairly safe but i haven't actually heard any solid answers on safe or not.Is there any danger to the tranny at all or is relatively safe?

they are no differnt then if you miss a gear with the regular shifter. You can fugger everything up pretty good if you don't set the stops correctly on a t45 or if you use them at all on the 3650 or the t56

i read a bulletin from tremec that said not to use the stops because the 3650 which i have has internal stops and if you use the stops on the short throw incorrectly the gears wont fully engage or somethin or other

a short throw itself doesn't cause damage, but speed shifting/powershifting a stock transmission can, and doing so with a shorter shifter than stock only makes the problem worse.

I am convinced that transmission problems are a crapshoot anyway. You talk to people that never powershift and they still have had troubles, and vice versa as well. Powershifting/speedshifting, espcially in a 45, is a good way to screw it up, but some of them just seem to be built tougher than others.

its better for the tranny because you don't have to move the pivet, which is what the shifter moves (i don't know the right and that sounded best), as much and actually puts less strain in the tranny itself
