Just wanted to let you guys know that my car is offically fixed and man does it feel good! The tranny shifts like no other. I also got a new clutch assy. and fly wheel put in and just the little gas ive given it, the car pulls HARD! Im gonna spend the week breaking it all in and I will be at Temple Acadamy Raceway if you all wanna fly out to see me hit 12's! LOL

Glad yours is back!!! I am supposed to pick mine up today..it's been at the dealer 3 weeks now. They damaged something when installing
the kit and they said they have rebuilt the whole tranny. I hope it is done today and most of all I hope it is right. So the shifts are a lot smoother now?

Yeah... they said they overhauled my entire tranny. They told me that they used to replace the tranny but Ford stopped that and come out with the rebuild kits. Im happy with it and it feels stronger than ever. I cant wait to get to the track!!!

what symptoms did you tranny have, the 1-2 / 2-3 grind or the #3 lockout?

i want to have this done, sometimes i can feel a slight bang shifting into 2nd or 3rd. would ford do the TSB for this problem?

Well mine would only grind second gear when it was cold. Third gear synchros went out all together and the only way I could get into third gear was to slam it in past the grind or wait for the rpms to come down to about 2000. If you have a short throw shifter then swap it for the stocker before you take it in and say nothing about rear gear changes. They wasnt gonna do mine but I knew a couple guys that worked there and they hid my shifter and said nothing about the gears.

I have a 97' GT and had the same prob with 3rd gear. I would be driving down the road and it would pop right out of gear. What a pain in the rear when you're tring to run down a Vett.
