Leaded Fuel?

RE: Leaded Fuel?
My afr was at 12.3 at the leanest point.. After talking to all of you in another thread and asking my tuner about it he told me to add 2 -4% more fuel if I wanted it a little safer. He keeps saying that its safe at 12.3 since i'm only running 10lb of boost.... I added 4% more fuel at wot anyway so I'm thinking now its probably 11.somethin.. ..
My timing was at 21 degrees but I lowered it down a couple points and it does not detonate..
The gas in my area is crap though.. when I'm in school in the bigger city where more people actually buy 93 octane I have no problems at 21 degrees.. I think in my small town the 93 octane fuel sits there with no one buying it so long that it loses octane..
I would just like to run the 21 degrees er so of timing at the track without worries of detonation..

RE: Leaded Fuel?
There's your detonation problem for sure. 21 degrees of timing without meth is too much. My tuner stops at 23 degrees with meth and an intercooler. I agree with what your wanting to do though. Get you some 110 and 21 degrees will be no problem to run at the track.

RE: Leaded Fuel?
Leaded fuel will def. be better than unleaded for more advanced timing since it acts like a higher octane in the sense the lead doesn't ignite as fast.
If I was running at the track, I would bring down the fuel level to above E and fill tank with no more than 3-4 gallons of 110leaded. After your done racing fill up with your usual 93 octane and bring your timing down to normal. You will be fine.
It would be ideal if you had a fuel tank in your trunk so you can use a T-fitting and switch fuel tanks as needed...lol
