Speedo Recall....Twice?
I was strolling along through rpmoutlet when i came across the predator tuner...
i have never considered putting one of these up to my car so i've never paid ANY attention to anything people say about them,, but i decided to look at it anyways...
Accorrding to the website i was on, it says that the predator can do ALL KINDS of SHI*.....
I am going to have my gears replaced with FRPP 4.10's in the next month coming up, and i know that i am going to need a speedo recall....
However, pay attention here.. i also understand taht i am going to be getting new wheel tire combo next summer... 275/ 35or40 on 17x9 as well as 315 or 335/ 35or40 on the back with 10.5's
when i get my gears done, i dont know what exactly i will need to pick up.. but can the diablosport predator recalibrate after the gear change, as well as any changes that might need to be made after new wheels?
I am very confused here, so many questions, and i dont want to overspend on the recall if i will need to do it again next summer for wheels..
so if someone has experiance, or just knows exactly what i need to do. PLEASE let me know, im so excited about getting the car out, but not about having no idea what im doing...[]

yeah, it can recalibrate for gear and wheel size changes as well as advance your timing and A/F. btw, I am running 17x9 and I'd recommend 275/40's because it keeps the factory ratio and there is no recalibration required. I chose to do 275/40 tires and to get a dallas mustang speedo recal for $100 with 4.10's and a steeda timing adjuster (used) for $60. it may come out to a few less ponies but it saves a good deal of cash.

Well thats the thing about less ponies,,, i want nothing to do with altering the computer to make the car put out more power,,thats why i dont think i would want to look into a tuner like this...
youre saying though, that if the tires go 275/40... and 335-315/40, i wont need any recal for that?

is the website for dallas mustang,, just dallasmustang.com?
and if youre saying that is waht i need, how does it work?
all i want is to get my 4.10's, and be happy.....

if all you want is 4.10's and a 9 inch depth wheel without modifying the computer I'd go with 275/40 tires and speedo recal for $139 for the 99. If all you want is to adjust the speedometer to reflect the 4.10's then this is all you need

40 series with a a tire over 300 will throw your speedo off. You will need a 30 series tire.
yes you can do the speed cal and timing adjuster. But the preadtor has some more features that may make it worth while. You can adjust gearing and tire size but you can also, adjust fuel in RPM ranges, Timing in RPM ranges, turn trac off, disable O2s and EGR. Set rev limiter, remove speedo limiter, data logging, data streaming, read and clear codes, you can also get cutom tunes from Diablo if you mod the car further and the existing tune is not the optimal tune.
All and all a hand held tuner is worth it if you want to be able to monitor and play with settings.

So i can go with a simple speedo recall for the 4.10 gears.....for now,,but can i use the same recalibrator if i get my 275's up front on 17x9's, and 315 at least on 17x10.5 in the back?

RE: Speedo Recall....Twice?
You can but if you go with a 315-30 on the back it will be almost equivlenat to 245-40, acutally a tad bit smaller. You will have to play with the dip switched in the calibrator to get the setting right. I am not sure if they give directions on how to compensate for the tire size and gears combined.

RE: Speedo Recall....Twice?
315/35's mantain the factory ratio and should work on 10.5's without having to recalibrate anything. 275/40's up front will work great on those 9 inch wheels. I'm running 245/45's up front and 275/40's in the back on mine. I don't like the 245's up front but I keep telling myself it's less drag to compensate for not looking right [:'(]

RE: Speedo Recall....Twice?
315-35s are bigger then a 245-40 by more then a 315-30 is smaller then a 245-40
315 * .30 = 94.5mm/2 = 47.25mm side wall
245 * .45 = 110.25/2 = 55.125mm side wall
315 * .35 = 110.25mm/2 = 55.125mm side wall
1mm is approx. = to 0.040 inches
A 35 series tire will get you closer to the factory tire size.
EDIT: Had incorrect factory tire size[&:]

RE: Speedo Recall....Twice?
huh...*scratches head.... i wish i had an idea of what that really meant for me..
i mean, i understand the sizes and the percentage and multiplication there, but i dont really grasp the whole concept i guess is what i would say...
so i could go 275x40 on the front, and 315x30 on the back and not need any recallibrations?
oh god im lost..haha, sorry guys..[:@]
