Default Difference between 01 cobra motor and 03

Other than the supercharger and the fact that it has forged interntals.

Are the heads different? Is there any reason why you couldnt take the charger off a 03 and slap it on a 01 is basically what I want to know

The heads are different. The '03/04's pistons have more of a dish. If you did put the blower on the '01 heads, you may not be able to run as much boost and/or timingas an '03 motor because the compression will be higher. I think the '03's had 8.5:1 and the '01's had 9.85:1.

the ports are the only difference but it will still bolt up and work fine, you will be producing higher numbers due to the higher CR though. 9.85:1 still isnt too bad of a number boost wise, you will just have to have a little more timing pulled when it gets tuned.

Ok well heres what a buddy said and I told him I think you can still bolt it on

cuz like the fords... i bought a DOHC for my stang and the heads are different so i cant use the heads to bolt the eaton supercharger lower intake on. I was just kinda thinking about that and then i thought about the gibbs trucks having the superchargers and it would be kinda sweet to find a wrecked on and get the stuff of it to do mine. But like i said it was just a thought. Im bout to BD mine and get new wheels after that i want to supercharge it...

So the intake does not need to be switched out? He can just take the charger off the 03 cobra and bolt right on to his 01 cobra motor?
