Default 96 Cobra help...Not too hard

What is the name of the bar that runs behind the rear axle? is it Anti-Sway bar? My wife keeps breaking this bar in her car. Not her fault, we live on a rough road and she drives slow, but this damn thing has broken twice. Is there another part we could replace it with that will hold up better?
thanks in advance for your help.

The benefits of having one are less body roll, which means better handling. I would just try to get a stiffer one or a thicker one rather than having a broken one.

Running your car with no rear sway bar will cause your car to push. push=less steering ability and front end slides forward(kinda like front wheel drive). Sway bars counteract the opposite end of your car. No sway bar on the front and the back end will slide all over the place. Kinda wierd but that's how it is.
