camshaft question
Ive got the stage 2 Comp Cams in my 2V. i had them installed bc i was short on time and tools. I just found out today that the installer didnt break them in. My question is...do u have to break the cams in on a modular motor? If so, how would u go about doing it?
Any input is greatly appreciated, thanx guys

Not to sure what the cam break in procedure is for the modular motor, but its probably something like rev to 3000rpm and hold it for ten min.If you are having no problems with the cams now, you are probablygoing to be ok.
O.T.i amlookinginto some compcams what do you think ofyours, do they have a good idle, and any power gains from them?

I have the Comp Cams stage II and never had mine "broke in" either.I let it loose the day after they were installed. No problems here. I have the early 2v comp cams though (96-98). They don't have as high of a lift as the 99-04's. The idle is nice and lopey, and RPMs are constant. You WILL need a tune after they are installed or your car will die at idle.
