RE: Really BAD news!
ok this car is not my daily driver i paid $4000 for the car 1 year agao. its just a play toy, project car or whatever you wanna call it. i didn't know much about mustangs when i got this one, i just knew i wanted one. i have since learned that i have to 4.6 the whole over head cam thing is bull **** to me. that was the worst thing ford did. so anyway my water pump went out on my way to work i couldn't be late so i kept driving, i already knew i have a crack or somthing in my head gasket. it was putting oil in my radiator. but it has 165,000 miles on it, so its time for a rebuild or somthing. i am wanteing to do the 5.0 because i love the motors. i don't want to sell my car cause i hove to much in it and would never get that back out. maybe this will help on your ideas with what i am trying to do. thanks

The 4.6 is a great engine. It's durable, very reliable, and runs a lot smoother than any 5.0L ever did. It has it's flaws, but it's still a great engine. The 5.0L has better power and a better aftermarket. If you wanted a 5.0L you should have done your research before buying the car... 5.0L's can be swapped into these cars easily. Just the K-member needs to be changed. The guages and everything else will work. You will need a F.A.S.T. for it, though.

RE: Really BAD news!
Getting a 5.0 is a great motor but the last post is right. The 4.6 is very durable it has been in Crown Vic's for years and look at the abuse they take..I had a 96 Crown Vic with 160'000 Miles and it ran like a top, no problems, no oil burn, leaks nothing, itwas a old police vehicle and actually the gas mileage was very good 25 mpg on the HWY and had decent pick up..So to your question get a 4.6 you can find them out there..They are cheap and you won't have any other mods to do..Look at wreckers see if there are 4.6's on there lots..
