Default How to install speedometer gear

I am thinking about getting gears and was just wondering how hard is it to install the speedometer gear. Im pretty sure with my year i can't use a tuner, correct me if i'm wrong. Either way how hard is it to install this gear? It's only 1 gear i need right? I'm thinking 3.90's or 4.10's what gear do i need for either?

Default RE: How to install speedometer gear

The speedometer correction gear is easy to install. On the tail part of the transmission on the driverside, there is a electrical connector plugged into a small plastic piece. It has one screw like 10mm or something. Take the screw off and the gear goes inside there. I think I went with the white gear, but I also heard the plastic gears tend to get shredded after a while. A speedcal by Brother or Dallas are the exact correction. I think they run $80. My car runs 3mph slower at 60mph and oviously it gets worse the faster you go. 6mph off at 120. My car reads 120 and I'm really going 112. I have 3:73's. The plastic gears say for 3:73'4:10's so you know it's gotta be off for the 3:73 and 4:10 so the 3:90's are the middle point.
