i recently installed a k&n intake in my 96 G.T i had to take off the negative side of the battery. after the installement, i get ready to start it up and i dont get ****!!!!! now, i get out the car to pop the hood to see whats up and soon as i get out the car a theft alarm starts whailing. i manage to disable the (audio) part of the alarm but my car won't start. and i dont have a alarm device to disable this..... the car will generate electricity bu t will not start up. can ANYBODY help me?!! i really am not trying to take this to the shop but if i have to so be it. any help would be very much appreciated. thanks people.

 

sounds like you have an aftermarket system, what kind of alarm is it and did you have it installed or was it on there before?

 

i dont know whattype of alarm it is. yeah it was there when i bought it. i dont know what type of aftermarket system, but it is definently aftermarket

 

your gonna want to take it to an alarm shop to have them fix it, because there are soo many different ways an alarm system can lock up. Plus there may or may not be an internal kill switch that needs t be reset.

 

i saw somthing that looked like a kill switch next to the hood latch (on the inside), its black but i doesnt seem to do anything. do you know anything about it?
