Default Headers headers headers

I have an 02 GT and looking to do a longtube x pipe combo. I have been researching for 2 months and found that basically only Hooker and Kooks are the only brands that you can still work on the tranny/clutch without removing the header. Now, I am very close to buying and still dont know what brand to buy. Mac/Hedman headers are cheap and alot of people get MAC, but I dont want to have to remove the header to work on the tranny. How many of you have headers, what brand, how hard to install and any problems?

Ive got mac headers and you dont have to remove them to get the tranny out... just loosen one side. I posted a while ago that they didnt even have to loosen them but the did have to loosen the passanger side to get the tranny out.

I have the Macs also and they are pretty good other than the fact that the collectors are a little discolored, whioch is expected a little I guess.

Now thats odd. Eveyone I spoke with said you need to remove the header to take out the tranny or clutch. However, can you loosen the headers without jacking the engine or k member? Basically I dont want to do this install and then get slammed for 2Gs if my clutch goes... ya know?

Well I wasnt there towatch the guy do it but he told me at first that he didnt even have to loosen them. When I went back he was tightning the passanger side down and he said that he had to loosen it to get it out. It didnt matter to me either way because warranty paid for it.

Yeap. Mac LT headers. I just talked to the guy and he said just loosening them were a pain in the ***. LOL But it was done without totally removing them.
