Hard to change battery cables?

Hard to change battery cables?
I am looking to replace all the battery cables on my 2001 Gt. How hard is this and is there anything I should watch out for? I know the cables are going to cost me around $150, so I would like to not have to pay someone just as much to install. Thanks in advance.

RE: Hard to change battery cables?
The motorcraft replacement cables I have found are $159 from 50resto.com and the dealer. I had corrosion at the ends and I cut them back and put on new ends, but I have been stranded 3 times in the last week. I think I cut them back far enough and got rid of the corrosion, but I would feel better if I just replaced them with new ones. Can I get these cables at autozone or discount, or should I stick with motorcraft. I need the positive and negative cables, as well as the two little ones that come off of the negative terminal, that join into one and plug into a harness.

the way the cables run on these cars, your best off going with oem stuff because cables you get from most autoparts stores and infact universial. They really dont have the necessary hookups for all the auxilary stuff that you need

You can buy a battery relocation kit from RPM outlet for between 150.00 and 200.00 if you are interested in that. Frees up room in the engine bay (takes up trunk space) depends on which one suits you. Moroso makes a sealed box and cable kit for the 200.00 range.
