I was wondering if any of you guys know how much horsepowera 2001 4.6L engine block can withstand? Just the block not anything else.

yours is most likely a windsor. do you have 11 or 13/14 valve cover bolts. They are basically the same engine just some have a 8 bolt crank instead of a 6 bolt and the water pump pulley and t-stat housing are different. They both give out the same power.

I think that the '01's up to '04's are Romeo.

some 01s were still windsor...they stopped at a certain date in 01 when the windsor plant shut down..you would have to check you vin code or valve cover bolts to be sure.

I have a late 01 I know this because I have a different water pump pully. I have been looking into the UDP by Steeda. So what you guys are saying that I can keep the block and just add the internal parts and will be good with high number of HP.
