I know you guys probably get this question alot....however I'm interested to see what kind of numbers a lightly modded 2v will put down. Im looking at a 2003 GT with intake/93 tune/pullies/O/R prochamber/Mac 2.5" catback/4.10's. What kind or RWHP do you think this setup would make? How do you think it would fair againts a stock 3v? Thanks BTW post list of your mods (if not in sig) and say what kind of numbers your running (RWHP/1/4 ets).
I don't understand, your looking to trade in your 05+ gt for a 2v???

If so, your not going to gain anything. The 2v should win in a race stock vs stock, but a CAI/tune should take car of that on a 3v. the 3v will be far faster boltons vs boltons.
With average drivers the 2v is a low 14 second car. The 3v is easily a mid 13 second car. Thatsa decent difference.

A 3v with MINOR bolt ons can easily dip into the 12s where it would take a 2v some sort of FI...

The new edges are using the same old chassis and has had the same interior design since 94....

What im saying is the 05+ GTs are better than the 99-04s in every single way no questions asked. (Looks are all opinion)
Sorry about that... I ment to say that full boltons on a 2v vs a stock 3v the 2v would win, I got distracted (dammed work I have to do lol).

In my 07 I ran a 12.9 with a cai/tune and slicks/skinny's and just BMR LCA's
In my Full bolt on 02 GT My best time on a perfect day was 13.35 with a 2 step tune and grooving every gear

You could just do what I did: Buy a 4V and spank them both....

A 2V with minor bolt ons will definitely beat a stock 3V. Have said that, it is possible for a stock 2V to beat a stock 3V. I beaten a hand fullof 3Vs with my slightly modified 98GT and recently have beaten several 3Vs with my stock 04GT. I really comes down to the driver and his/her experience.

+1 on the 98 GT. I've had some 05's and up pull next to me and unexpectly they will lose and they look at me like what I got I got done. I mean a full bolt on car with gears still most of the time should not beat a stock 05 and up. But like black beast said it's all about the driver. Having all that power and not putting it down on the ground can sometimes be a problem for some people.

Take it from someone who actually races one every weekend.

My friend has an 06 GT, stock, 5sp, just axle back dumped off.

Me: Sig mods plus 3.73's and a 93 tune.

From a40-70 rollits usually always back and forth on the wins. On one race ill beat him and the next he very slowly walks me. We usually take it up to 120 and on the top end he usually always closes the gap and we end up tied. From a low low roll or 2nd gear roll i can always hold him off till about 100 with 1 or 2 cars.

Its a drivers race pretty much with us. Me and him have equal shift speeds and driving characteristics; I just weigh a good 70lbs more.

My uncle has a 06 GT beefed up. I remember when I drove it stock, thing was very very quick. I was really surpised on the transmission on the thing (Automatic). really tight smooth shifting car that I see can be made really fast really quick. a few upgrades on a 2v gt, might be a interesting race but I d have to give it to the 05,06 gts. Gears on a 2v would/or might give a chance but thats only going on what I felt not seen.
