Default 03 GT brakes vs 03 cobra brakes

so when i lived on base, things were nice for the stang, because i didnt have to drive it tooo much. but since i moved a bit away, i have to deal with rush hour, which has cause warping of the rotors on my car. i have a few choices infront of me...

A.new rotors, slotted (hope it solves the warping problem) ~$250
B. upgrade to cobra brake system, non slotted... ~$570
C.upgrade, but buy kit in pieces... so cobra calipers, with slotted rotors of choice. ~$750

the first choice is the cheapest by far, and i hope the slotted help with the constant stopping i deal with due to people just clogging the highway, and cutting eachother off.

the second is prolly my best choice, but the rotors arent slotted, so im not sure if ill just end up warping them, i really dont know how much slotted rotors will help either.

third is prolly the best, but of course, the most expensive.

does anyone know how much better (performance wise) the cobra brake system is over the gt... im kinda using this as an excuse to upgrade my brakes (since i like to autocross every so often and it would help) and im just curious. also how do you all feel about the slotted rotors. by no means am i an aggressive driver while stopping, the highway around here just sucks, and if you leave yourself room, you end up hitting the brakes because someone cuts you off....

I do not know this for an absolute fact, but I have been told that slotted and drilled rotors, new performance pads, and braided lines make their performance differences negliable, maybe somebody will post some numbers, I dont have any

Go this route. Not only will you be able to get 13" brakes, but the rotors are vented (not slotted or drilled) and are good. It's a good inexpensive upgrade.

The Mach 1, Bullitt, and Cobra brakes are all the same thing (they even use the same pictures in some of the advertisements on websites!). The cobra says "cobra" on the caliper, the bullitt has a picture of a horse on it, and the mach 1's are straight black. Otherwise, they're the exact same thing but are sold at different prices.

If you're looking for a place to get them for $350, PM me and I can let you know.

I have the same problem with my brakes but i am going with thecross drilled brembo brakes (Cobra R) from Brother's performance.

The only thing thatI would say about getting better brakes is that PBR(the manufacturer99-04 + brakes) also makes the brakes for Baer.So if you were to buya baer break kit, you are pretty much buying the same calipers but better rotors. It's a waste of money. Just investin better rotors and padsand youshould be fine.

P.S. the "Powerslot" rotors are also the same rotors that come on our cars but with slots in them. I am not sure if they would help.

it doesnt feel as if they are... the rotors have been on my car for about 50k miles now, i wasnt to surprised when they started to screw up. before i moved i had em checked, and they were in really good shape... its been almost a year of driving in those crappy conditions, so im not to surprised with them warping. i generally dont stomp on my brakes, but there have been a few times where i thought i was going to get smashed... people do the dumbest crap around here.

id say either choice number 2 or 3. Honestly probably choice three since i figure if you are going to upgrade do it right the first time and you will save yourself money in the end. Choice 2 is not bad though. The cobra factory is still a definite upgrade.
