Default SLP LM1 vs. straight pipie?

Forgive me if this has been discussed before. Is there a huge difference in installing LM 1 cat back system vs. simply removing the stock mufflers and replacing them with pipe?

"Straight pipes" on a car usually mean no cats and no mufflers. And from what I hear, you actually lose a small amount of torque from that setup.

Besidesthat, Loudmouth catbacks sound mean as hell.

There will probably be a small difference in sound since the LM 1s are just a 5" tube. but other than that, there is really no difference.

There is a big difference. Straight pipes sound like crap and LM1's sound like god.

there is a huge money difference, and if you just install glasspacks instead of piping it will sound similar.

Lm1's are too loud for a dd. And you can't run a pipe straight out of the header and back. you have to have some sort of crossover to equal out the exhaust puleses between the two banks. It helps with whats called exhaust scavenging. You would loose horsepower by doing so. Lm2's sound great though mpo.

i think he just wants to take the mifflers out and replace the gap with pipe, not go from the headers back. couldnt u buy slp resonators and put them there?

Sure can. i had to buy the SLP mufflers to replace the resonators. too many noise restrictions in my area or so i was told.
