Just changed my tps, and wondering how to change the voltage output, its too low now, and picking up a CEL. Is it the throttle position screw you use to change it? do i need to open the throttle more to pick up more voltage in the tps?

I had a similar problem when I changed my TB. Try this:

Loosen the screws on the TPS and rotate it as far clockwise as you can. Tighen the screws back up and check the voltage.

What year is your car?The '99 through '04 TPS is not adjustable, and doesn't need to be adjusted--the PCM continuously reads the output while the engine is running and records the lowest value seen as closed throttle. Since it knows the angular rate of resistance change in the TPS potentiometer it can easily calculate the throttle position from the "curent" voltage vs. the lowest recorded (closed) voltage.Did you disconnect the battery for 5-7 minutes fater changing the TPS? That will clear the KAM and force the PCM to relearn idle and fuel trim values...

i have a 96. will that still work if i clear the KAM and the computer to relearn the values or do i have to mess around with it to get the voltage right
