Vavles sound like they rattle at full throttle
I have a 96 GT, at cruising speeds and normal driving the car is fine, but under hard throttle the valves sound like they are rattling. Can these be ajusted or is this normal? The car has 105k miles on it and I use 87 gas. I didnt notice it until I put the cats back on the car, but it may have just been drowned out by the exhaust before.

It's probably the timing chain tensioners. If you can't deal with the noise, replace them. They're about $45 a piece from Ford, but the labor is high. Of course you can always do it yourself and save $1,000.

I can deal with the noise as long as it wont hurt the engine. I have read post about the timing chain, but I dont think that is the case, because it is not constant, if it were the chain it seems like it would be constant because the chain is always moving consistant with no break. I could be wrong, I was hoping somebody had the same thing happen and had an easy solution to fix it lol. If it was the chain would that eventually cause a problem?
