Default My car is almost dead

ok simply put, my car idels like its cammed, the exhaust is white and will gag a maggot, it bucks when in up to speed (like 40 and up) and it drinks gas like its free. WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG. all my friends have mustangs and oncea month at least one of them breaks down. why are mustangs so non dependable.

Don't know much about the problem but treat a car nicely and it should last. If you romp the hell out of the car all the time, stuff will break. I have had minimal problems with my stangs and they have been mostly stupid problems.

Sounds like misfire city again. Hits another mustang. Try the $80 updated PCM calibration from the dealer. Its what worked for me.

Don't think there is anything inherently wrong with the Mustang 4.6 other than the fact that for some people it's too much fun to lay off of and they drive the living hell out of it.

If his car runs rough and throws white smoke it sounds like maybe a head gasket. Loss of power and stubling because of the compression issue, but aso the white smoke because its burning coolant. I dunno that might be it.

Personally I've beat the **** out of my GT for the last 60,000 miles and I've never had any issues. I'm not even really uptight about maintaining it. But I do my best to keep it in good shape. It seems like the people who have reliability problems are always having problems, one after another. Go figure.

Nah man, all depends on the driver really. Had an '04 Pontiac GTO awhile back. Honestly I didn't get on the gas as often as you'd think. It didn't have bad gas mileage for a V8 when you didn't have a lead foot.
