i'd be willing to bet that a place like barnes & noble would probably have it. there are probably newer publications out but i haven't really looked lately. i ordered my book from amazon.com for a little cheaper than the bookstores have it.

unless yougo with a big bore shortblock overbore is useless for power reasons. A .030 overbore will do nothing adding power wise.

The big bore kits are hugely expensive, like 6000+ for a shortblock with forged stuff.

I'm about to have a stroke with all the people recommending stroker kits on the 2v 4.6L. Find me ONE stroker car that is making significantly more power than a stock displacement car with the same mods and you MIGHT have something...but we have yet to see one.

Stroker FTL... its extra money down the drain for nothing.

i've also heard there are reliability issues with the stroker kits on the 4.6, something about the cylinder bore not extending far enough down to support the longer stroke.. does this sound right?

The 4.6L is already long on the stroke side of the bore/stroke ratio. Adding more stroke only causes this problem to be worse.

I have heard that boring .030 over allows you to use Stage III heads which have larger valves.

i doubt that boring .030 over would have any advantage other than cleaning up a cylinder that is worn out from excessive mileage. i'm pretty positive stage III heads will bolt up to your block no matter what. and yeah, the bore/stroke ratio for the 4.6 IS already pretty high. the stock 4.6 has a higher bore/stroke ratio than a Chevy 383 stroker.

The ad says because of the larger intake valve they do not recommend with standard bore.

my bad, i was thinking of the stage II's... yeah i was looking at the stage III's a while back and called Patriot about that, and they claimed that without a .020-.030 overbore, the intake valve is at riskof hitting the cylinder wall.
