air intake silencer.

besides the fact that it looks alot better, you will notice better gains with an aftermarket system simply because air is entering the filter from every angle instead of one single spot on the airbox. i have the K&n FIPK system and its great, the fenderwell systems really make it a biach to service the filter when you need to.

RE: air intake silencer.
We dynoed my '03 (in December of '06 just after I bought it) with the stock airbox, filter, and silencer; and with the airbox and filter removed (open MAF)--there was NO statistically meaningful difference in the numbers, none, zilch, nada. I'll see if I still have the files. That said I do have the silencer cut-back so that it still enters the wheel well by 3/4" or so, but doesn't have the necked down snoot anymore. If anyone has any back-to-back dyno runs (thatarenot from a filter or CAI manufacturer) showing that any filter or CAI actually provides any meaningful increase I'd love to see 'em...

jay thats cool in theory...but you must not understand how poorly these 2v's take to boltons.
stock they dyno 225-230rwhp, with FULL boltons (longtube headers, midpipe, catback, pulleys, tb+plen, CAI) you only put down about 255-260hp.
