6spd conversion

RE: 6spd conversion
I asked the very same question when I found this site... can it be done, yes. Is it worth it, probably not. It takes quite a bit of parts and not to mention alot of time to complete a swap like that. Unless you just are a really good mechanic and know how to do it, its gonna take some time.
My suggestion would be to think about upgrading from your auto to another mustang with a manual in it. Thats what I ended up doing and I'm quite happy with my decision.

yes it can be done and it requires the following. T56, cobra bell housing, clutch for an 03 cobra, 03 cobra trans mount, 03 Cobra driveshaft, and an 03 cobra shifter. It is very worth it

Unless your willing to pay well over 2500 for just the trans alone (to get viper spec new) its not worth it. even then, the only major advantage is to be able to run a higher rear end ratio while getting decent MPG.
If you get the Fbody one, you will have an advantage at 120 to say 140+ MPH... but you don't need to be racing that fast anyway.
