Default Automatic Tranny!

What legally in California can I do to my Automatic Transmission 04 Mustang GT to get it to shift quicker? I dont really know what exactly to ask but I would like to get the car quicker overall from ever aspect possible. Thank you very much.

I can't imagine that there are many restrictions on the way the transmission shifts. Although if anyplace had one it would be CA. I would say you could put a shift kit in if you really wanted but I would try a tuner and up the line pressure and adjust the shift points.

Yeah I have been looking at tuners lately and am planning on getting one after I get my exhaust situation figured out. Thank you.

Dooood, 4.10's plus a tuner. I promise it will be *almost* as fun to drive as a 5 speed. You will not be disappointed.

You could do a shift kit also, but honestly, my shifts are so firm with just the tuner I don't see how a shift kit would be that beneficial. I mean, my car slams into 2nd and 3rd.

Dude, get the B&M shift kit for the car. I have a Tune on my car and the car shifted great for a while and now it shifts like crap. I need a new trans now. The B&M shift kit does it right and you will not have to worry about destroying your trans. 4.10s are better on an auto too. If you have the money, buy a new stall convert from TCI or B&M. This will make the car a lot faster and will allow you to install cams in the future if you wanted to go that route.

What size torque converter should i get for a NA, soon to be nitrous assisted car. I was thinking 3000rpm stall.
