Default Transmission Vibration

Hey all! I sold my 5.0 and now have a 2002 gt. It seems though that the tranny likes to move alot most of the time when im in neutral and shift the car into any gear i feel the transmission clunk but once i drive off it wont do it again just seems to do this whenever the tranny has not been put in gear in a while.

Seems like something is loose since it clunks only once in a while wheter im putting it in 1st 2nd or 3rd but after that initial noise and shift its gone. Till I stop at a light and put it into first again.

Not to mention that it vibrates through the shift **** during accelration...small vibrations Im glad I have it with a warrenty though should anything go wrong with the car. Other then the tranny noise and vibration im happy i have one

Any comments about what it could be?[/align]

+1 on motor or tranny mounts. I'd check them first.

It doesnt sound like its coming from the motor it seems like a tranny mount feels like excessive movement when i shift at higher rpms or possible engine mounts.

The clunk though when i put it in first from a stop i can feel the vibration come up through the shifter. Its anytime i stop and put it into any gear i hear an intial clunk.
