Default Kick Panel Removal

OK, now I feel like a complete idiot. I cannot get the plastic holder out of the kick panel so I can check for a chip in my PCM. I'm about ready to just cut it but thought I'd see if anyone here knows an easy way to get it out without destroying it.

First you have to take off the little plastic running board cover (or whatever ist called). Then remove the plastic plugs that hold the kick panel on, I think there's one or two. Then pull the panel straight back towards the rear of the car. It should pop off without too much hassle, but if your pulling it to the side, your probably gonna break something.

Yeah, it's the plastic plug I can't get off. I've got the kick panel completely free other than the dang plug.

Can you get anything under the edge of the plug? Sometimes it takes a little persuation to get off. Try using an open ended wrench to pry it out. Avoid using a flathead if possible to prevent scratching your plastic. Or if you can get your fingers underneath the plastic and behind the head of the plug as support, you can pull on the whole kick panel.

Thanks. I got it off. I just had to get REAL persuasive about it. Unfortunately, I scratched the dang panel.[:@]

Well good and bad. But at least its a kick panel and not a hood! I wouldn't worry about it too much. Glad you got it off though.
