Default Brakes?

I have a V6 car with 4.6 motor and trans I need to upgrade the V6 brakes but not sure what I can do. I think slotted and cross drilled would be good would love to get bigger ones though to fill up the 17's but what all would I have to replace going to bigger brakes? I know the rotors but do I also have to replace the the calipers? What can stock V6 calipers handle?

Unless you are road racing your car I would stay clear of drilled and slotted rotors. They can crack from daily driving use. V6's have the same brakes as GTs. Any upgrade for the GTs will work on the v6s.

+1
And don't bother with the rear brake conversion, the fronts are all you will need.

You can get the brake kit cheap at Buyfordracing.com. I Just purchased mine there, but I also pieced my kit together. (I didn't like the factory rotors or pads.)

IMHO, I would also get the 13" rear upgrade too so that the brakes look consistent all around.

I'm planning on doing the plain mach 1 upgrade (http://www.buyfordracing.com/shop/pr...roducts_id=594) on the front, and getting red paint to paint the front and rear calipers. I figure it will make it look consistent that way.
