Default headliners

i have an 03 gt and my windsheild leaked and it messed upmy headliner board i have pulled one out of an 04 and it was glued inand we had to let it idle with the heat on high for at least 2 hours. and we pulled and pulled i thought we were going to dent the roof but we didnt. i was wondering were i could get a board for a decent price the dealership wants about $350. we didnt use any glue when we put the headliner in the 04 but it doesnt look that great from the back because it hangs down a little lower, and i was wondering what do yall use in place of the glue.
thanx

Default RE: headliners

To do this correctly you will have to buy the new board or:
1. Take the old headliner and composite board out of the car.
2. Peel off the headliner material and you will see about 1/4 thick of foam.
3. Take a wire brush to the foam to get it off the composite board.
4. try not to peel up any of the composite board or it will show when you install the new headliner.
5. Install the new headliner with 3m spray adhesive. Spray the adhesive on the board and on the headliner.
6. Stick the headliner to the board and let is dry.
7. Install it back in your car.

I haveanupholstery shop as a side business and one of the main thingsI do is headlines.

Just as an FYI, if you pull the material off the headliner board and the board starts to pull up with the material..... Go to ford and buy the new board otherwise anything that you try to do will look like S***.
