REPLACING FLYWHEEL
hey guys got a question. I may be putting a clutch in my car in the spring. Im gonna go with the Dual Friction setup by Centerforce and was wondering if I need to replace the flywheel or have it resurfaced. My car has 42,000 miles on it and the clutch works perfectly, so I was just wondering if it was still necessary to service/replace the flywheel. Thanks for the help...
When you switch your clutch out, I would suggest spending the extra money and replace your flywheel. When you resurface it there will be tiny grooves all the way around it and youwill getmositure on the flywheel and that will burn up your clutch. I have seen it many times. But again its your clutch so what ever floats your boat.
ok, thanks for the replies guys. Im thinkin I may just replace it with a Centerforce billet steel unit then. Im not sure I want to take any chances of having to take it apart again because I do have longtubes and its not gonna be a fun job to do once...let alone twice..

am i the only one on this forum that switched to an aluminum flywheel? nobody seems to do that for some reason, from what i've gathered on here....

alot of people dont go with aluminum flywheels because they are more expensive and arent as beneficial at the dragstrip where the rotational mass of a steel flywheel will produce more inertia used during launch.
