Default PI swap?

I had been planning on going stage II heads/cams this spring but just got offered PI heads/cams/intake for $500. Everything has 20,000 miles on them and are from an '02 GT. Is the PI swap worth it? How will the HP numbers compare from a PI swap to stage II heads/cams? This is a daily driver and I don't go to the strip. I'm just looking for some nice power somewhere around 300 hp. Opinions on what I should do?

Yes, that is well worth it, b/c it will bump your compression ratio to 10 something. You will be faster that a regular PI. The stage 2 swap it probably worth another 30 horse.

10.5 is the c/r for npi to pi heads, you wont make 300 rwhp but you can bank on a good 260 with your tourque somewhere in teh 300's. save youself some money and buy the pi heads and get them stage 2 ported. i think that may help you up to that 260 or higher. make sure you get a good tune.

edit: thinking about it i may be undershooting your hp.

I made numbers in my sig with a stock PI swap, tune, cat back, mid pipe, stock manifolds, 70 mm tb, and intake. If you port your heads you should make between 250 - 265 with a moderate tune (unless your car is running crappy). Cams are where you'll make the most power.

I gained 81rwhp with my PI engine swap and a tune.

And, no you will not switch to COP. Only way to do that is to switch ECU's, w/h, fuel rail, COP, PATS with keys, gauges, and transmision. OR, BE ONE HELL OF A ELECTRICIAN.
