Default GAS Mileage? ? ?

What do you guys/gals get? I read a review that the 4.6 GT should get 18/25. That sounds reasonable. I am on my first tank of fuel and it isn't looking to good so far. What can I reasonably expect from normal driving, nothing crazy.

is your car new?

i get an average of 22mpg (decent mix of normal city/highway driving). best i ever got was 28 on a road trip. worst ever for me was 16, but i got to where i was going quickly.

I usually get 16 miles to the gallon. and about 200-225 per tank. But I usually always have it at 3 grand.

Ford claims 17 city 24 highway. I think I'm doing around 20-24, but I have no idea because I fill up my tank at random times, and the gauge is so inconsistent.

try dividing the number of miles driven since the last fillup, by the # of gallons at used to fillup

I've had the car for less than a week, so I haven't had the time to do that (though this has not prevented me from putting 500 miles on it already...). But yes, good idea.

right on, i think your car is rated at 18/26 if its a 5 speed, thats what mine is and i'd expect the same thing from all 99+ 5 speed gt's

I'll happily eat dogsh*t the day mystang gets 25mpg! I average 16 mpg. Thats highway and city driving. But i keep my foot on the floor an dI don't leave any light/stopsign slowly. Bets I have ever gotten was justa hair under 20mpg. and that was interstate driving. If I calmed downa bit i might get about 17-18 normally, but where's the fun in that???

Exactly!! Whats the fun in putzing around at 1500rpm? You have to enjoy driving. Its so much more responsive and funier at higher rpms.
