need fuel gauge help!!!!!!

Default need fuel gauge help!!!!!!

Alright here's the story I parked my 96 gt while in the navy she sat about 9 months or so I come back and well the gas tank grommet whent out I replaced that and for all that had trouble at the wrecking yard 10.28 not at ford for 30.00 !!! screw the dealership there are alot better prices out there...... also now my gas gauge reads over full all the time I asked the guy at don barry mustang they do classics but he said that the cable that goes too it is probably pinched somewere causeing a short thats making it read full otherwise it wouldn't read at all I don't know if I should replace the sending unit or not if you have any info please let me know what I can do to fix this I really would like to know whats up with the thing

had this problem in my fox
yours being a 96 im not sure HOW similar they are but here we go...

all mine had wrong was the fuel float. i WAS going to replace the sending unit
but the problem was fixed after i replaced the float.
you gota drop the tank but its worth. and go to ford for the float they`re not too expensive and
they give you the right part unlike KRAGEN[8D]
