Default Dyno Results

I have 2000 GT and had it dynoed on a DYNOmite dyno. It put down a disappointing 202 hp and 239 ft lb. I have a Diablo Hard chip so I ran it once with chip on and twice with it off. I actually lost 2 hp and 2 ft lb with the chip on. Money well spent, i think not. It maybe worth it if you have a tune done and are going to equip a supercharger or turbos, other than that I dont see the point

What do you all think of that?

no real point in having a tuner/chip unless you have mods done. you have any mods? auto or 5 speed?

A good tune will benefit your car regardless of what mods you have. The stock tune is set up for emissions and miles per gallon, not performance.

haha where are all you guys getting your guesses? If he's auto there's nothing wrong with his car. take 20-25% drivetrain loss and that's about 60ish HP. so yes, to the rear wheels he's pretty much right.
And tune on a lightly modified car isn't worth it at all. Around here i think it's about $400 for a tune. He might gain about 5hp out of an all out tune on a stock car.

Damn, those numbers are really low. And you shouldn't have lost anything with the chip on. Something's messed up. I've seen bolt on NPI's make those numbers.

+1 - a properlyconfigured custom tune is always money well spent. However if you are married to using 87 octane there is only so much that can be done, a good premium fuel tune can make more power and generally get you 1/2 to 3/4 more mpg in the process...

hah i still don't understand why you guys think this is out of the normal. that's a pretty typical number if he's a bone stock auto. i dynoed 185rwhp and i had about 225ish hp maybe. so i lost about 50 to the wheels, and i'm auto.
