ya, it definatly seems like every kid these days get a brand new mustang or trans am, or any sports car for that matter!

I had to drive a beat up old ford escort for 3.5 years till I could save up 21Gs for my GT, and its definatly better knowing you payed for your car, and it wasnt handed to you.

Was I the only one who had to drive a crappy $800 used buick centry for my first car? Too many moms and dads are spoiling the hell out of their kids... but I digress...

Tell me your budget and I'll help you out with the parts you need.
Totally agree Fallstar. 100% I bought everyone of my cars. No one ever bought me a car. But then again you cant really argue wit a free car.....

As far as the parts go...how fast you wanna be? 13's, 12's, 11's, 10's, 9's,.....RENAGADE? Let us know and we can steer you in the right direction. Until then... easy on the "HOTT" use. But other than that..good luck and hope we can help.

ya, my mom cosigned for me......

but as far as what you need to buy......first you need some gears, i would recomend 3.90 from motive, then you need a tune, i would recomend the diablosport predator, then you need some handleing, make sure you have the best tires, nitto 555 is my recomendation

then focus on suspension and exhust, flowmaster is a great brand for the money.

I was pumping gas the otherday and I saw two highschool kids talking trash, 1 in a Supra and the other in an M3, both were tricked out. It's rediculous.
To those who had parents co-sign, that's cool but making a car payment in highschool has to be a b****... Not to mention full coverage car insurance for a 16 year old on a fast car. Even if someone is on their parent's insurance i'd guess it would be expensive. I was just barely able to cover my own basic liablity insurance, gas, and movies/clothes,etc... When the brakes wore out or I needed new tires, I couldn't afford to go out for a while.

I hear ya, my first car was a 92 4 cylinder Stang. I didnt even know they made a 4 until I bought mine.[:'(] I have owned 5 cars and I'm 21, and all of them were paid for with my own money. The kids with rich mommies and daddies have it great. Oh well,[&o] Im sure that if my parents said "Here's a brand new sports car," I would say no to that.

Don't get me wrong, my parents did technically buy the two cars I've had for me, but I have payed for half of each of them. I know it's not every dime but being a high school kid involved in sports nearly year around, I couldn't work 24/7 like a lot of guys can. I still worked my *** off mowing lawns and holding a part time job to pay for half of my prelude that was 6k, then we sold that and got my mustang at a dealer auction for 8.5k (wholesale )

I guess what I'm getting at is just cause a kid has a nice car doesn't mean he didn't work for it.

i just got my cobra. My parents also co-signed for me. I wouldnt say im spoiled because i have to pay for it my self. $400 a month car payment, and $375 a month full coverage insurance. Thats why im still at work right now talkin to you guys lol, im workin about 7 hour days after school. But i agree some kids at my high school are spoiled, and it makes me mad. At least pay for some of it or work for it....but then again i wouldnt mind a free car either....

I had a Chevy Venture.... never get a GM; they just self destruct trust me.

Then The Rents gave me Probe GT.... the one they bought in 1993. Let me tell you, if you think working on a Ford is hard just try working on a Mazda!

And now I saved up and bought my '02 Mustang GT. I look like I'm 12 though so I'm sure a lot of older guys think I'm a rich spoiled brat
