That was the longest run on sentence. I fixed it for you! And so I could actually read it!:

Was having probs with mine starting on first try intermittently. Was almost as if it wasn't getting fuel, or the timing was off. That had been going on for a while. Finally CEL came on. Read the code, showed bad camshaft positioning sensor. Searched the board and found out that a bad alternator would cause that. Had the alt tested and it came back with bad diode pattern. It would charge fine at higher rpms, but little to no charge at idle. Make sure they check w/ an ammeter. Going to change out the alt tommorrow. Hopefully will be the fix. Maybe not the same, but worth checking. Also, when you turn the key to on position, not starting, you should here a whine of the fuel pump. But, in my experiences, fuel pumps usually either work, or go out. No in betweens.

GM's have had issues with their fuel pumps. I guess there is a valve that sticks open, and the fuel bleeds out of the lines, so every time you go to start the car, it takes time to re-prime the line.

Depending ion the milage, I would check the fuel pump. Check fuelpressure running, and bleed off.

try changing the fuel filter, its most likely a fuel issue. maybe a pump or your lines need to be cleaned.

I don't know how many miles are on your car but it could also be time to change the spark plugs.
