on the fifth gear grind, i've been told that pretty much it's gonna grind if you try and hit it hard, cause most times ive powershifted it, it'll grind even if i have the clutch to the floor and plant the shift perfectly, and absolutely no other time than when i try and get into fifth fast will it grind.

hey thanks guy...I do have a short-shifter, and my clutch is tight as hell (as in hard to push down) it's harder than any other manuel car I've ever drove...I'm loving my cobra tho, raced a Bently GT couple last night and was neck and neck then I missed 5th (didnt put it in smoothly, actually didnt put it in at all)

Speaking of shifting into 5th gear, Ive had the problem lately of it popping back out of gear, and sometimes having to try two or three times to get it into 5th. Its the only gear I have problems with. Any ideas if maybe a clutch adjustment is needed, or something more significant?

Thanks

I just changed my tranny fluid, i went from the stock mercron V ATF to Royal Purple max gear, it grinds once in a while going in to 5th, it never used to do that before, what could be the problem, did i not put enough fluid back in it, i put 3 quarts in, cuz thats what the manual called for. but it seemed that alot more ATF came out then I put of RP back in. How much should I have put in.

????
