Default Wide Tires Question

Does anyone know what sort of modifications I would need to make in order to fit 315/35/18 tires in the rear? I have a 2000 Mustang GT and I want to replace my Kumho Supra 712s with a pair or 315s. What size spacers would I need if I can make it work? How wide can I get? Also, I heard Eagle F1Rs are good tires. Any other recommendations and/or websites I can check out? Thanks for your posts

Your tire won't look right. You need to run a 30 aspect ratio, not 35. Your tire will be too tall in the rear. The 35 aspect ratio is good for the 17 in wheel, not 18 in when it's that wide. You may also rub with a tire that tall.

245/45/17 = 25.68" tall (factory tire height)
245/40/18 = 25.71" tall
315/35/17 = 25.68" tall
315/30/18 = 25.44" tall

A 315/35/18 would be 26.68" tall.

Hope this helps.

Are you lowered in the back? I'm stuffing some 325/50/15's once my tax check finally gets here, and those are 2 inches taller than stock tires. The rear of my car is stock ride height, and I won't have any issues.

yea that tire ratio doesnt sound right. a 315 35 best fits on a 10.5 inch tire and the widest ive seen deep dish 18s is 18X10

May be a dumb question, and I apologize for stealing the thread. But what width wheel you need to fit 315s? 10.5 is good enough right? What width would look the best I guess is what Im asking!??

So yes, I am lowered in the back, but only about 1/4". The front is about 1/2", so the rear is a bit higher up. The tires are 10 inches wide right now, and I have about 1 1/2" clearance from the exhaust pipes on either end. Will I need spacers to fit the 315/30/15s? Thanks guys.

you dont want a 30 if your only lowered 1/2" in the back. it'll look bad because you'll have more wheel gap. you don't want a 315 35 either becuase it may be to big (although some like the muscle look)
You may want to look at some 305 35..that'll fill the gap up andthe sidewall will still be smaller than stockand about half an inch smaller than 315.
