Default RE: intercooler?

compressing the air (which is what a supercharger does) to cram it into the engine drastically raises the temperature of the incoming air. hotter air leads to detonation. intercooler cools the incoming air before getting into the combustion chamber to allow more boost without detonation

i think the highest you want to run a KB without an intercooler is 8psi from what I've read. and I doubt you'll be in that horsepower range with only 6-8psi. So the answer is yes. For that high of a horsepower range, you're going to be looking at getting an intercooled kit and i'm guessing at LEAST 12psi.

You never NEED an intercooler. But they help dramatically. They prevent detonation and cool your IAT temps. They also provide a drop in boost (I saw -2 psi), thus allowing you to run more boost. In turn, you will be making more power. I always recommend an intercooler, but at the same time I have heard great things about meth.
