Default Keyless Intry.

I just bought a 2002 Gt yesterday, The car didn't come with the remote for the Keyless intry. My friend has four keyless intry remotes for his 2002 ford. I was wondering if I could program one of those to my stang. We tried the usual way to program it which is the shut the ignition off then turn it on and off 8 times within 10 seconds, the car responded but all it did was lock and unlock real quick, no matter what button we pushed. Any ideas?

You might have to have a dealer program. I have never had to reprogram any of mine, but I know the the dealer had a lot of trouble doing the key on/off thing when I got my GT. They ended up having to plug a computer into the car and reprogramming the keys and fobs.

waste of money to take it to the dealership...

1) remove trunk lining on the left hand side (driver side) - you should see a box with two pins sticking out
2) turn car on but NOT the motor (known as ACC position) - have your remote ready
3) connect the two pins with either a paper clip or one of your car keys or something metal (i used a paper clip and straightened it out to get it to connect)
4) the buttons should lock and unlock (i think) - then press your lock button and your locks should lock and unlock again
5) repeat 3 and 4 for more key fabs

if that doesn't work, then go to a dealer

i belive they have something like 20-30 different remotes depending on model and year, is your friends 2002 a mustang or another model, maybe the require different remotes
